With over three decades in the contact center industry, Steve Mammen has witnessed Alvaria’s evolution from its earliest Noble Systems days to the global enterprise it is today. Back in 1991, he joined Noble as its third employee—drawn by a company initially focused on taking magazine sales from door-to-door to the telephone—and quickly found himself immersed in a fast-paced startup determined to innovate dialing technology. Now, he’s proud to reflect on 34 years of contributions, ranging from building entire systems and training users to shaping inbound support solutions.
Serving as Principal Resolution Manager, Steve modestly describes himself as the “guy who fixes things,” but that title only begins to capture the variety of roles he’s taken on. Over the years, he has ventured into shipping, receiving, support, and documentation—becoming the driving force behind features that customers continue to rely on.
In every position, he credits the people as his motivation: the willingness of Alvaria employees to collaborate makes even the toughest challenges feel surmountable.
When asked for advice, Steve urges newcomers to learn broadly, rather than focus on a single piece of technology. Curiosity, he says, is what fuels solutions to big-picture problems. Watching Alvaria expand from a modest startup into a major player in the contact center world has underscored his belief in dogged persistence—a trait that’s earned him the nickname “bulldog” for his refusal to abandon a problem until it’s solved. Among his proudest accomplishments is guiding the company’s inbound support solution through countless iterations so customers can seamlessly reach the right technicians.

He’s a Pilot and assists when working on his own airplane. Not only does Steve fly his own Cessna 310, he also does much of the mechanical work himself—a unique combination in the aviation world.
He’s a Traveller
He’s Explored Nearly Every U.S. State. Steve has traveled extensively with his wife, Barbara, of more than 45 years—by both plane and motor coach—and only has Alaska left to check off his bucket list!
He’s a Musician
He’s a Musician at Heart. Steve once played in a rock band and still maintains a home recording studio complete with 24-track recording capability.
